Statement on Universal Do-Not-Resuscitate Policies for COVID-19 Patients

In response to news reports that some hospitals are considering implementing universal do-not-resuscitate policies for COVID-19 patients, MyDirectives CEO Jeff Zucker issued the following statement:

“Even in times of crisis, medical professionals should do everything they can to follow the clearly expressed wishes of their patients. We understand the tremendous pressure that our medical system is under, but it would be wrong for hospital administrators to implement blanket policies that disregard the voices of patients and their families. We fail as a healthcare system and as a country if we let this happen.”
